Since the first graduation photo shoot, I've been on a roll of a handful of graduation photo shoots in different locations too! Around May, I had scheduled and arranged two photo shoots, but with the great feedback from one of the shoots, I was asked from a few other people to do some photo shoots. I just finished a photo shoot yesterday so I'm looking at 1-2 more graduation photo shoots. I'm looking into doing some couple photo shoots and even a baby photo shoot!
I do get asked frequently, how do you do it? And my answer is awful. I work 40 hours a week, I typically take the amount of units that is considered full-time, I try throwing in photography, and I always try to make the time to hang out with friends. When it comes to priorities, doing extraordinary in school is almost towards the bottom of my list. Not that I just try to get by with C's, but I'm content if I get a B. Because I work early mornings some days (4 in the morning!), that gives me a lot of time the rest of the day. I don't have a defined sleeping schedule, but on days I work at 4 in the morning, I try to get to bed around 11~12AM, because it'd be a waste of time trying to sleep earlier. I rarely give myself free time to just do nothing, I don't leisurely eat my food, I'm on-the-go constantly. I constantly have things I need to get done and there's always something every day that I have to take care of (work or school + anything else). But I do burn out, so once in awhile I have a day where I don't do anything.
I've known Nhi as long as I've known a handful of friends. She's the sister of one of my dearest friends. It was such a pleasure to take pictures of one of the biggest moments in her life and her best friend Sarah was able to join her also. At first I thought Sarah would be shy in front of the camera, but she's so silly and fun in person that it was definitely fun shooting her. Poor Nhi was stressing out on her 8AM final the next morning, but she was a trooper and stuck through. :)
I've never been to the "non-existent" floor of Geisel until that day of the photo shoot. It's very spacious and relaxing.
Instead of writing down the standard "Class of 2012", I asked Nhi and Sarah if they wanted to put anything personal on the chalkboard. "Fides et ratio" is a latin saying that means faith and reason. Is it me or anything in latin sounds bad ass?
My favorite shot from the shoot.
I think this is the only statue of the school's mascot. Frankly, I miss being a triton versus being a 49er here in CSULB. I still have tons of UCSD pride for only going there for two years!
awesome photos once again! how do you manage to carry the big numbers around? :O and a day to do absolutely nothing sounds great. you do need to take breaks once in a while! :)
