My brother, along with my niece, both graduated high school this past Wednesday. I've never really attended a high school graduation. I've only crashed them afterwards to take pictures with graduates I knew that were a few years younger. But I actually sat through a graduation, and a flood of memories just rushed in watching them graduation. A lot of memories and a lot of Class of 2009 pride, which I still have plenty of. They give a white sash for the ASB members now, and my reaction was "WHATTTT?????!". Back in high school, I did the whole sha-bang, with CSF, honor society, and such. I think that was 3-4 tassels, a sash, and the cord. (Not to brag or anything :p). Anyways, I was lucky enough to shoot my niece, suggested by her auntie (my older cousin), who's an amazing professional photographer. She's booked with weddings and such so she asked if I would do one for Nicole.
I don't know why I love these sort of locations, but to me, it's breathtaking. I love shooting with nature, and I'm not a huge fan of architecture.
They grow up so fast. :')
The wind was our huge enemy that day for the shoot.
Favorite shot from the shoot.
I was supposed to have a second shooter/assistant that day, but they backed out without even really telling me. Poor Nicole didn't have the greatest experience having a photo shoot since she helped me lug around props and such. We brought these numbers up a large hill. But I treated her out to a great dinner and bought her a dress as a graduation gift.
My second favorite shot.
I have another photo shoot tomorrow with a couple. It's my first time shooting a couple so I'm pretty darn nervous. But they know it's just for kicks and giggles and I got to start somewhere! With four photo shoots within the past month, my summer has been pretty swell. I want to try to average a photo shoot per week, but we'll see about that. On an unrelated news, I've been in he process of moving back home to Orange County.
can't wait to see how you do with the couple!
